The temperature of the water around Ibiza makes it such an attractive place to indulge in watersport activities - with the water warmth ranging from 18 degrees celsius in May to 26 degrees celsius in August. A huge range of the most popular watersports in Ibiza can be enjoyed including snorkeling, waterskiing, catamaran sailing, windsurfing, jetskiing, parasailing, and hiring pedalo and banana boats.

You will find that wherever you are located on Ibiza, most beaches (especially the larger ones) will have kiosks where you can hire out pedalo boats and also perhaps try out a banana boat! The island has plenty of sailing schools which offer catamaran hire and windsurf hire (though you may need a licence for this) You can learn more about sailing as you have a wide choice of several sailing schools dotted around the island, especially at the beach resorts of Las Salinas, San Antonio, Cala Martina, Cala Pada and Playa d'en Bossa. The beaches that offer great parasailing, water and jetskiing are San Antonio Bay, Santa Eulalia, Cala Bassa and Playa d'en Bossa.

It is possible to rent catamarans on Las Salinas and Playa d'en Bossa beach. Windsurfing is probably best in early and late summer around the beaches of Ibiza as the south wind (The Scirroco) and the West Wind (Mistral) pick up. The best beaches for windsurfing on Ibiza include Playa D'en Bossa, Cala Martina and Cala Conta. Cala Martina is renowned for the surf as there is plenty of flat and water that is shallow. Cala Conta is for the more advanced surfer.
